LOL. I guess I'll have to change that cat's ownership then?

Just noticed you have the most adorable cat in the world tagged as Katie's. This is false. I conned ownership of that feline from our sister two years previous, under the condition that I always cleaned out the catbox. Little does Ms. Katie know, but when I move out of the dorms and into an appartment, THE CAT GOES WITH MEEEE!!!! Nathan has been trying a lot of new foods now that he has more teeth and is older. He will soon be trying YoBaby - yogurt for babies.

Breakdown of new foods - GG=Gerber Graduate, toddler food

Popular
Chicken Nuggets
Cheesedogs
Cheddar Cheese
Diced Apple (GG)
Diced Carrot (GG)
Biter Biscuits (GG)
Cottage Cheese
French Fries (any kind)
Bread (any kind)
Apple Juice

Not-so-Popular
Colby Cheese
Greenbeans

I thought he might like real foods more than baby food, and that has been the case with everything but greenbeans. He seems to have inherited my dislike of them. So far, his favorite new foods are cottage cheese and cheesedogs (all-beef BallPark franks with cheese in them).

Right now, I'm thinking we'll go "all out" on presents and decorations rather than the party itself. I think Nathan is too little to really understand much other than that he is receiving gifts and cake. The main "activity" of the party will most likely be watching Nate destroy a piece of cake and tear wrapping paper off gifts.

I added some older "baby toys" to our registry list if anyone is in need of some gift ideas. Tyler and I will be getting Nathan a "big boy" carseat as his main gift. We will also probably snag a few small toys or one large one.

I can't believe how close his birthday is getting. It just keeps inching closer while I'm not looking. It's time to start planning and pricing things out or I'll blink and miss the whole thing!

I imagine I'll have to have a guest list compiled by June to get invites sent out. Not sure if I should send them early June for a one-month notice or send them mid-June for a two-week notice. Either way, I've got three months (approx) to make a list, choose invites and get them all addressed and mailed. It sounds like I've got time, but weeks just pass as quickly as days do...

The new pics are cute as ever. He is such a handsome little guy. Your build a bear party sounds like an awesome idea. Everyone will love it! Cake, ice cream, gifts and games are the usual. We also liked to cook out and go swimming. Take lots of pix....xoxoxoxo

Ok, I am currently taking activity suggestions for Nathan's 1st Birthday. I'm not sure what kinds of things 1 year olds are interested in... But we also need something to keep the adults and older kids busy with.

I am thinking about doing a Build-A-Bear party maybe. Basically, all the kids get to make a bear for themselves. We get to set the amount spent per child ahead of time - probably ask the parents to put $10-$15 in towards their child and then Ty and I could match that to give them $20-$30 to spend on a bear and outfit.

Other than that, just going with the traditional cake and icecream at Grandma's. Thinking of doing a Thomas the Train theme (because Nate likes trains and the color blue).

Any input is welcomed. Thanks!

Nate is wearing his Newbie onesie for what will probably be the last time. He is growing so fast!

I think we'll have to shop Thinkgeek and get him another geeky onesie to wear to Game Days. Thinking about the TCP/IP one so far.

Yep, Nate is a newbie! He makes a pretty good one, too. And he is an excellent keyboard banger. Future gamer in training!

You are very welcome. I try to find the time to post as many Nate pictures as possible, especially when he hits an important milestone. Having half the family so far away makes it pretty much a necessity to take a lot of pictures (and videos). Hopefully it gives everyone the feeling that they "know" Nate.

The professional pictures will be so much fun to have as the years go by! We will be doing them again for his 9 month birthday (in April) and for his 1 year birthday in July. The first year has the most changes so we have done lots of pictures. Definitely don't want to miss anything!
It's already pretty amazing to see the difference between his newborn and 6 month pictures - he looks like a different baby.

Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you!
I really love Nate in a box. He is too precious for words....
